The Guild dedicates its annual July meeting to the sewing of colorful pillowcases for donation to the Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter (LAWS), using fabrics donated by Guild members. This is an all-hands-on-board event. Members form a production line to match and cut fabrics, and to sew colorful pillowcases for women and children. For the past several years the Guild has completed and donated over 100 pillowcases annually.
LAWS gives the pillowcases to women and children seeking shelter and to those receiving counseling and attending training through LAWS programs. We hope that our effort gives some comfort to families going through a hard time, and shows them that we care.
